Marvel has no shortage of villains. In fact, the comic publisher has so many villains that many are often forgotten. Marvel villains can play a huge role in an arc or series and just as easily be discarded months, weeks, or even days later, left to age at the bottom of the pile. X-Men villain Stryfe is a huge example of such a villain. But who is Marvel’s Stryfe?
Origin
Stryfe was created sometime between the 37th and 39th century to be a clone of Cyclops’s son Nathan Summers. He first appeared in The New Mutants #86. Stryfe was originally cloned to replace Nathan in the event that he succumbed to the Techno-Organic Virus that Apocalypse infected him with as a child. Nathan survived the Techno-Organic Virus. His clone was left without a purpose. Apocalypse found and raised Stryfe.
Apocalypse taught the boy to be brutal and unforgiving. He nurtured the child and planned to use him as a vessel to transfer his consciousness into. Stryfe resisted the mind transfer with the help of Apocalypse’s followers.

Adulthood
After surviving Apocalypse’s treachery, Stryfe went on to become a military leader for a faction that rose to power in Apocalypse’s absence. His formative years turned the man into a power-hungry, evil leader. He is most known for his role in forming the Mutant Liberation Front, a terrorist organization.
He has been a direct antagonist to Cable and his freedom-fighting efforts many times in Marvel Comics. The villain could not resist his upbringing and became a fierce leader for multiple evil organizations. Stryfe is an Omega-Level Mutant because of his superstrength, superspeed, psychic powers, and genius-level intellect. If you think Cable is tough you should check out his evil twin.
Cable is one of the most interesting X-Men characters because of his lineage and his role as a freedom fighter against Apocalypse’s regime. He also has a hilarious relationship dynamic when paired with Deadpool because of their contrasting personalities. If you ever wondered what Cable would be capable of as a villain then look no further than Stryfe.
